Project Engineer - Fabrication
This position will be suited to someone with experience of project planning and running a team on the shop floor.
The successful candidate will work in the Fabrication team alongside, apprentices, fabricators, welders and Project and Trade Managers.
Tasks will include:
Planning the labour and ordering the materials required for jobs onboard
Update and monitoring of in-house project planning tool
Estimating new jobs (time and cost) to assist the Project Management team
Liaising with Technical department for drawings required and Class surveys of work onboard
Assist with draughting and structural modifications on projects where required
Checking work onboard complies with the production drawing
Attend project meetings
Writing Risk Assessments and Method Statements for the work onboard
On the job training will be offered, with training courses (as required) to follow the probationary period. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to work toward their CEng status.
Essential Requirements
Experience using AutoCAD and Excel (as well as other office packages)
Experience in managing teams
Experience of working in a changing workload with the ability to adapt quickly
Awareness of Health & Safety, and an understanding of risk assessments and method statements
Desirable Requirements
Design structural steel work suitable for the marine environment
Preference for experience with design calculations
Experience of working with Class Society surveyors and rules/regulations
Experience of welding, weld procedures and QA
