Pendennis is proud to have built Silver Raven, the UK’s first fully electric sightseeing vessel, right here in Falmouth. This ground-breaking 39-metre catamaran marks a major step forward in sustainable passenger vessel design and represents British shipbuilding excellence on the River Thames.
Commissioned by Woods Tours and designed by One2Three Naval Architects, Silver Raven has been purpose-built to operate the official Tower of London River Tour in partnership with Historic Royal Palaces. The vessel combines state-of-the-art electric propulsion with a design that maximises comfort and panoramic views of London’s iconic landmarks, offering a clean, quiet and future-focused way to experience the river.
While primarily designed for fully electric operation, Silver Raven also has hybrid capability to ensure flexibility where shore charging infrastructure is still being developed. Work is underway on the first dedicated charging facilities at Tower Bridge Quay, with full renewable grid charging expected as infrastructure advances in 2026.
Inside, every detail has been crafted to enhance the sightseeing experience - from custom Axminster carpets and Scottish eco-leather seating to a hammered English pewter bar - creating a vessel that beautifully blends craftsmanship with sustainability.
The delivery of Silver Raven highlights Pendennis’ commitment to innovation in maritime construction and our role in supporting the transition towards cleaner, lower-emission operations across the marine industry.
