Pendennis has been recognised once again on the global stage at the 2026 BOAT International World Superyacht Awards in Venice, with two major awards celebrating Pendennis’ in-house expertise in complex superyacht refit and rebuild projects.

M/Y Solace was the winner in the ‘Refitted Yacht’ category, following an extensive 10-month refit programme at Pendennis’ Falmouth facility. Originally launched by Feadship in 2005 as Twizzle, the 55.5-metre yacht underwent a comprehensive technical and expedition-focused transformation under new ownership, emerging as Solace.

The project combined a complete interior redesign by Vickers Studio with significant structural modifications, including a new bridge deck cabin and 1.5-metre stern extension. Extensive engineering upgrades prepared the yacht for long-range cruising in remote and high-latitude regions, while enhancements including a redesigned beach club and glass-fronted sauna elevated the onboard experience.

Judges praised the project for its careful balance between innovation and preservation of the yacht’s original character. “She’s 20 years old, but you wouldn’t know it,” commented one judge. “They’ve put it back as she was delivered, and it’s lovely.”

Pendennis also received further recognition for the remarkable rebuild of the 58.8-metre explorer yacht Seawolf, which was honoured with the ‘Judges’ Special Award’ for her extraordinary transformation, blending heritage preservation with cutting-edge innovation.

One of the most technically ambitious projects undertaken at Pendennis in recent years, Seawolf’s rebuild transformed the historic 1957 vessel into a highly capable modern explorer yacht while carefully preserving her heritage and character. The extensive programme included a full systems overhaul, hybrid propulsion integration, major structural works and a complete interior reconfiguration led by Design Unlimited in collaboration with Ngila Boyd. The judges praised both the scale and execution of the project, with one noting: “This was a really big project at Pendennis, and she has many lovely details.”

Together, the two award-winning projects reinforce Pendennis’ reputation as a world leader in superyacht refit and rebuild. From historic explorer yachts with decades of heritage to renowned long-range cruising yachts embarking on new adventures, the projects demonstrate Pendennis’ ability to deliver highly technical, collaborative and design-led refits at the highest level.
