Pendennis wins top National Training Award

After being named a "UK National Training Award" winner in the South West Regional Ceremony earlier this year, Pendennis has now been awarded the National Training Award "Winner of the Year" in the Large Employer category.  Honouring our innovatory world-class apprenticeship programme, the National Training Awards recognised our commitment to developing highly skilled tradespeople and future supervisors and managers. Other regional finalists included Nissan, Boots and the Fire Service.

Fort Lauderdale Boat Show

The 50th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show saw a new stand for Pendennis in a brand new location. Pendennis exhibited in the new superyacht builders area (stand 603) at the Bahir Mar site for the 5 day show between the 29th Oct to the 2nd Nov.

Ron Holland 150' interior revealed

The first glimpse of the Ron Holland 150' interior has recently been revealed. Running in parallel with the fabrication programme, the final interior design detailing process is progressing well to the point that the crew quarters shop manufacture has also started. The rendering of the yachts interior show that the Owners have drawn their inspiration from the New England style, with classic white paneling teamed with dark Oak flooring complimented by polished nickel fixtures and fittings. She is due to be launched in Winter 2010.

Monaco Yacht Show 2009

The Pendennis team have recently returned from another successful Monaco Yacht Show. We were once again Gold sponsors of the Red Arrows event, and played host to a champagne reception on the Monaco harbour breakwater - which was enjoyed by many spectators.

Pendennis expansion plans underway

Work has begun on the construction of the first of two new covered facilities for the yard. Measuring 55m (L) by 17m (H) by 16m (W), it will provide a flexible space for both refits and the completion of new build projects.

Pendennis announce new expansion plans

Pendennis plans to expand its facilities once again with the addition of two brand new undercover spaces. These will provide extra flexibility for yachts up to 75m - either in refit or at advanced stages of construction - and will be completed by the end of November 2009.

S.Y Nostromo launched

S.Y Nostromo, the latest Dubois/Pendennis collaboration emerged from the construction hall on the 23rd June. Started in the winter of 2007 the 30m sloop is a true benchmark for British engineering & design.

Dubois Cup 6th - 8th June

A team from Pendennis attended the fantastic Dubois Cup between the 6th - 8th June in Sardinia. We were very pleased to support the event again, continuing our long and successful relationship with Dubois.

S.Y Tenaz completes successful refit

S.Y Tenaz (ex Mamamouchi) has completed a successful six month refit at our yard in Falmouth. The refit worklist included a top to bottom interior and exterior repaint, refurbishment of the teak decks, general interior re-touching, main engine exhaust rebuild, maintenance and updating of rigging and systems and general electrical and mechanical refurbishment. The yacht competed in the Superyacht Cup in Palma at the end of June.

Va Bene named finalist at BI World Superyacht Awards

M.Y Va Bene was a finalist at the BI World Superyacht Awards held in London on the 16th May. It was the 2nd year running that one of our refit projects had made the final cut (2008 awards saw Elisabeth F being highly commended). Pendennis recently conducted a nine month refit on Va Bene including a major interior re-design, as well as an engineering overhaul.

We are pleased to announce our sponsorship of the 2009 Superyacht Cup in Palma. We will be in attendance, along with S.Y Tenaz (ex Mamamouchi) that is just finishing a successful six month refit at our yard in Falmouth.

Nostromo rig arrives

Our latest new build project is nearing the end of its 18 month construction. Nostromo, a Dubois designed 30m custom sloop saw her rig arrive on site recently. Launching in early summer the yacht will be the 8th Dubois yacht that we have completed.

Adix back in the water

Adix is back in the water following a successful 3rd refit programme at Pendennis. Her rigs are due to be re-instated shortly and the yacht is due to depart in May.

3rd place for Adela at St Barth's

Adela came in 3rd overall at the St Barth's Bucket and rounded off a fantastic year for Pendennis at the regatta. As well as Adela, we also had the beautiful German Frers designed ketch REBECCA participating at the event in the gazelle class. For the first time this year Pendennis co-sponsored the owner's dinner and presented each participating yacht with a beautiful gimbal mounted desk clock.

2008/2009 winter refit update

The winter season refits are progressing well, maintaining aims for all three distinctive projects to be finished by the end of May. The yachts are currently undergoing intense refurbishment of the interior and exterior, utilising our wide in-house skills base. The scope of works varies among the yachts, from repainting and interior retouching, to a major engineering overhaul of the generators.

Barracuda 32m to be built at Pendennis

Work has commenced on the construction and fit out of a new 32m aluminium motor-sailor, the Barracuda 105. Selected by the owner for our high standard of finish, Pendennis aims to complete the project by summer 2010.

New 150' sailing yacht for 2009

In partnership with Ron Holland Design and Palm Beach Yachts International, work on a new 46 metre performance cruising ketch will start in early spring of 2009. The yacht is due for completion in late 2010.
